Sea of rocks

Around 400 million years old, this rock formation is in the quiet Ayrmer Cove, a short walk from a small car park at the village of Ringmore. That quiet might be disturbed by groups of path walkers descending from the hills for a beach picnic or the odd "Townie" showing off his speedboat but it is still worth the kilometre walk through the fields.

This looks amazing. How large is it?

It spreads over an area to the right of the cove, probably up to a metre in height. See todays post for a different view.

It looks a bit like Cristo has been working here: as if there are blankets spread across the rocks.

this is gorgeous! at first i thought it was b&w, but the rock in the top left corner makes me think it isn't. a nicely done shot of an amazing looking area.

Thanks Jessica, I tried it in B&W but it (unsurprisngly)made little difference, thought it was better with a hint of colour.

Beautiful. It looks like Vanilla Fudge Ice Cream.
