Mine hole

The cliff near the previous posting has a man made hole which was probably for the miners to receive air while working...either that or they like the coastal view ! Working conditions were harsh, perhaps holes like this made a small difference.

There are many Tin mine ruins in Cornwall, some views can be seen on the Hokum blog.

wow, being a mine worker must be indeed a very difficult job...not no mention very dangerous too, considering the last (sad) accidents in many countries we all heard about.

Scary...I wouldn't like being down there in those dark cramped quarters.

I agree with you and the others - that's a tough job, so everything that can make it at least a bit better is good (like this hole for fresh air)!

there's a fair few jobs that i wouldn't particularly want to do ... & working down a mine would certainly be quite high on the list!!
