I love mussels, lol. And my daughter is Nuts about them - she says it's her favorite food! We get them here and eat them either with french fries. I cook them with a bit of hard cider! Very yummy!!
Hey, I didn't know you had rejoined the blog world. Glad to see you back. I think mussels are too much work to eat, but it's fun to smash them up on the dock and watch the seagulls feast on them.
My mom got violently ill from them, like sick for 12 hours or so. Ever since then, I've always been leery of them, unsure whether she had straight-up food poisoning, or a food allergy.
Don't they thrive on filthy water, anyway? Shudder!
Never tasted them and don't really fancy trying them, I prefer my sea food with a bit more to get the teeth into.

They do have pretty colors to their shells.
I prefer oysters. That's a whole lot of mussels.

I've never ate a mussel, and don't rightly wish to. They look too much like little faces, smiling and ready to pop open and talk to me. :)

I love Mussels ... with a good portuguese tomato sauce ... or fresh ... without cooking ;) they taste like oysters.
